Why Music Pirating? - Jessi's Opinion

Maybe piracy isn't global warming or world hunger, but that isn't to say it has no signifigance. Music piracy has many aspects of moral and legal concerns; you'd be surprised how many people take this issue to heart. In Sweden, an entire political party was established based on one man's idea to establish a web page for pro pirating. Once so many new members swarmed the site, Falkvinge (the founder of the web page) created the Pirate Party. The Pirate Party now has more members than Sweden's Green Party. You see? Piracy isn't all just punk teenagers looking to get free music. Its a universal issue that we at Music Pirating take seriously. I personally believe that the copyright laws of music are merely used for exploitation of the artist; an artist who should be able to share HIS music with whom ever he choses and not be forced to answer to the corrupted companies.
